Analytical Services

​Campden BRI are the leaders in practical scientific, technical, regulatory and consultancy for the food & drink industry (manufactures and retailers). A large part of the services we offer are our analytical chemistry testing including microscopy, chromatography, allergens, food composition etc. We’re looking to continue to grow this department through hiring a Head of Laboratory Operations, who will oversee the day to day running of the laboratory operations and people management.

Position

Your role will be:

·       Leading and managing the operations of Analytical Services at the Chipping Campden site

·       Running an efficient analysis laboratory operation, ensuring effective processes to deliver accurate and informative support for clients

·       Leading a large team to deliver on time and to budget targets, develop scientific capabilities; manage, develop and flex staff resources, facilities and equipment; budgets and financial performance; service standards, quality and health & safety.

 You’ll have a relevant science degree, have worked in wide-ranging experience in chemical & analytical sciences and have experience of leading laboratory operations in a large volume commercial laboratory.

Requirements

·       Providing high levels of Quality, both internal and external assessment and Customer demands

·       Leading and championing health and safety

·       Managing laboratory operations to deliver for Customers

·       Performance Management, Professional Development and People Management of a large team

·       Manage staff resource to meet the needs of the Customer and business, including structure and headcount

·       Manage the equipment and assets of the department

·       Manage costs and ensure the department meets required budgets and financial performance

·       Reviewing and improving operational excellence

·       Proven competence in managing timely and cost-effective delivery of technical services

·       Excellent communication and collaboration skills

·       Knowledge of the needs of the food and related industries would be desirable

·       Experienced in the implementation of quality/business management systems and the requirements of the ISO 17025 standards.
