About Julie Archer
Julie Archer has worked at Campden BRI for the past 11 years and currently manages the Microbiological Analytical Services (MAS) section within the Analytical Services Department.
The MAS group undertakes the testing of a wide range of food products, using both UKAS and non UKAS acreditated methods for pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms, shelf-life testing, sterility and spoilage analysis of heat processed foods, and identification and characterisation of isolates using biochemical and molecular methods i.e. sequencing, Maldi-tof and Ribotyping.
For ten years Julie worked at DuPont in various roles, the last 4 years as Western European Business Manager for the DuPont business of instrumentation for the rapid detection and identification of microorganisms using molecular methods.
Previously Julie worked at Campden BRI for 8 years in the Heat Resistance Group doing research and contract work into the effective thermal processing of foods.
Julie obtained her BSC (Hons) degree in Biological Sciences from Wolverhampton Polytechnic in 1992.
