Brewing Microbiology Team

​​Campden BRI support beverage manufacturers, retailers and businesses that supply into this market, with innovation, chemistry and micorbiology testing for safety & quality, technology and consultancy.

Our centre of excellence in Nutfield, Surrey, focuses on beverages, including- brewing, wines & spirts, soft drinks etc.

Please note due to our location, you must be able to drive and have your own transport.

Position

  • ​Provide technical support to the areas of brewing microbiology  including challenge testing, shelf-life testing and brewing microbiology research.
  • Maintain laboratory documentation and records to allow full traceability of sample receipt, quality of media used, suitability of equipment for the tests and accurate recording of results.  
  • Carry out scheduled calibration checks and laboratory monitoring tasks to achieve compliance with the requirements of the quality system.
  • Levels of responsibility will increase this role and may involve contributing to report and proposals and answering client enquiries.

Requirements

  • ​​Biology or Biosciences degree.
  • Experience in working within the requirements of recognised quality systems e.g. UKAS. ISO9000 would be beneficial.
  • Experience in working with beer spoilage organisms including knowledge media, incubation times and temperature requirements would be beneficial.
  • Experience in data calculation relevant to  product inoculation and testing.
  • Competent in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to start within a few weeks.
