We offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography,  packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits

Wines & Spirits Team

​Do you have a passion for science and Wines & Spirits? Campden BRI's Nutfield site are the UK's leading centre for brewing research, covering all matters related to beer, wine and spirit development, production, and analysis.

Our lab is based in Nutfield, Surrey and our growing team offer wine consultancy services to the UK & Global wine industries (winemakers, wineries, wine importers and retailers) including:

·       Wine analysis

·       Bespoke analysis methods

·       Pre and post bottling packages

·       Comprehensive taint investigation service

·       Wine consultancy

Position

  • ​Conduct analysis of beverages within agreed timescales, using HPLC and wet chemistry methods.
  • Administration and a focus on quality systems within the laboratory.
  • Quoting for analysis, reporting and interpretation of results.
  • Sensory wine tasting.
  • Identify and implement improvements such as new equipment, faster analysis methods, new analyses and flexible staff working.
  • Organise the team to deliver analysis results for clients on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • ​Chemistry degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a laboratory testing samples using analytical chemistry methods, especially wet chemistry.
  • Experience with HPLC.
  • Experience of supervising staff to deliver results on-time and to budget.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, high throughput laboratory.
  • Computer literate – proficient use of Word, Excel, Power Point and LIMS.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
