Microbiology

The Microbiology Department comprises around 50 staff from a wide range of disciplines. It provides essential services to industry through a wide range of contract and research activities. The department is organised into seven operational sections: Industrial Process Microbiology, Microbiology Analytical Services, Microbiological Risk Assessment, Microbiological Safety & Spoilage, Molecular Microbiology & Methods, Brewing Microbiology and Emerging Microbiology. The Central Preparation Unit is at the hub to support all activities with an essential supply of media, consumables, and decontamination of waste.

Position

To work as part of a team rotating to provide media, washing up and decontamination services to the Microbiology Laboratories. 

This is a training role with the expectation that after approximately 12 months Quality Control training will commence to enable progression to a Quality & Media Technician.

This is an introduction to the wider microbiology team.
