About

Filip Mackowiak is a specialist in liquid processing and thermal treatment systems, with over 20 years’ experience supporting food manufacturers in improving process performance, efficiency, and product quality within highly regulated production environments.

He provides technical expertise across a broad range of processing operations, with particular focus on pasteurisation systems, cleaning-in-place (CIP), and liquid processing. Filip has extensive experience in investigating process inefficiencies and quality deviations, applying structured root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement effective, sustainable solutions. His work typically addresses challenges relating to yield loss, thermal process performance, equipment reliability, and process consistency.

Filip has supported manufacturers in delivering measurable improvements through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM methodologies. This includes optimisation of process parameters, reduction of downtime, and improved utilisation of utilities and cleaning systems. His experience includes resolving complex processing losses, improving plant efficiency, and supporting the optimisation of cleaning regimes to balance hygienic performance with cost and operational efficiency.

He has also contributed to the delivery of capital projects and process upgrades, supporting clients in areas such as process design input, commissioning, performance validation, and post-installation optimisation. Filip brings a practical, operations-informed perspective, ensuring that process improvements and new systems are robust, effective, and capable of being sustained in a production environment.

Filip has a strong working knowledge of food safety and quality requirements, including HACCP, GMP, and BRC standards, and supports clients in ensuring that process changes maintain compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. His approach is focused on delivering pragmatic, evidence-based solutions that align with both technical requirements and operational realities.

He holds a Foundation Degree in Dairy Technology from Harper Adams University with additional qualifications in food safety, health and safety, HACCP and project management.
