Regulatory Affairs Team

The Head of Regulatory Affairs manages a central team that connects regulatory intelligence with practical, commercially focused solutions, enabling the business to anticipate change, manage risk, and seize opportunities. The role is responsible for shaping and driving the organisation’s regulatory insight capability, ensuring that emerging legislation, standards, and compliance trends are proactively identified, assessed, and translated into actionable guidance.

 

The leader will collaborate closely across Technology & Research Consulting, other divisions and commercial teams, and external regulatory bodies to develop forward-looking regulatory strategies, strengthen customer value propositions, and support the organisation’s position to deliver sustainable growth as a trusted expert in regulated markets. They ensure that intelligence is transformed into clear, accurate, and timely recommendations, tools, and frameworks that empower teams to deliver compliant, innovative, and market‑relevant services.

 

Central to the role is building strong, trusted client relationships and acting as a strategic partner in clients’ product and compliance activities. Through these relationships, the Lead ensures the delivery of high‑quality, commercially successful regulatory services that meet complex client needs and reinforce Campden BRI’s position as a leading global regulatory consultancy.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject, with extensive experience in food law to give the appropriate level of credibility to operate in this broad and strategic role. A higher degree may be an advantage if in an appropriate area.
  • Extensive experience in regulatory affairs, regulatory intelligence, policy interpretation, or an equivalent field, ideally within food, beverage, or other regulated sectors.
  • Proven track record as a recognised expert in regulatory matters, built through sustained delivery, external engagement and peer or client recognition.
  • Experience leading teams or functions, including people development, performance management and capability building.
  • Demonstrated experience in consultancy or advisory settings, working directly with clients on regulatory, compliance or market‑access challenges.
  • Experience proof reading and/or producing high‑quality, insight‑driven outputs, such as regulatory summaries, impact assessments, horizon scans, or technical briefings.
  • Highly developed analytical, interpretive, and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise large volumes of technical, legislative or policy material into accurate, actionable insights.
  • Innovative problem‑solving skills, able to generate new ideas and translate them into workable solutions within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing authoritative guidance, reports and recommendations tailored for technical, commercial, and senior‑leadership audiences.
  • Confident presenter, capable of representing Campden BRI at external events, client forums, conferences, and technical platforms.
  • Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills, able to establish credibility with clients, regulators, policy stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • IT literate, including proficiency in business systems, collaboration tools, and technical software relevant to regulatory insight, documentation, and project delivery
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, and a full UK/EU driving licence for travel as required.
