Sugar reduction in beverages seminar


Sugar reduction in drinks is a hot topic. The UK government will introduce the soft drink levy in April 2018, which will affect all producers and importers of soft drinks with more than five grams of added sugar per 100ml, including alcoholic drinks with up to 1.2% alcohol by volume.


To avoid or reduce the impact of the levy, producers must either reformulate their drinks to reduce the amount of added sugar to below the five gram limit or reduce their portion size.
