Labelling the origin of primary ingredients – when is this triggered?

Legislation that requires the origin of primary ingredients to be labelled when it is different from the given origin of the food has applied since 1st April 2020. But some food business operators (FBOs) face a challenge in deciding whether they need to provide a statement on primary ingredient origin.

Our regulatory affairs team has put together advice – in the form of a white paper with a flow diagram and a summary of when the requirement is triggered - to help food business operators to make this decision.

Contact our regulatory specialists if you would like guidance on how this might affect your business or to discuss training on how to implement the requirements.
