Technical Product Manager

Job summary

  • The key purpose of this role is to create a more client-centric and market-led approach to the marketing of key Campden BRI services by moving away from a focus on ‘clever science’ to one of proactive problem solving and the development of meaningful and relevant services for our clients, and promoting those services through the most appropriate communications channels.
  • Campden BRI has a wide range of great services that are poorly understood by potential clients, whose value is not optimised, and pricing is not always logical. The Technical Product Manager will be chief storyteller and service promoter for the business, recognising unmet and sometimes unrecognised client needs, finding the products and services clients to meet those needs, and creating a full marketing-mix approach to demonstrate to the food and drink industry Campden BRI’s service offerings.

Insights and Intelligence Executive

Job summary

  • Campden BRI does not know enough about its competitors, its clients or the trends in the food and drinks marketplace and needs to become more outward looking and market-led. The Insights and Intelligence Executive role is key to plugging those knowledge gaps and building greater awareness and intelligence about the markets in which we play.
  • The Job holder will be responsible for gathering and organizing data, identifying market insights and drivers as well as wider trends from the food and drink industries. They will interpret those findings to build actionable intelligence to drive our focus on client needs and to inspire the development of new services. They will also support the operating units with ad-hoc requests for information about their markets.
  • Sources will include paid-for data providers (e.g. Euromonitor, The Food People etc) search software such as Meltwater and general published and online media such as food blogs, industry groups, Linked in and many others.
  • Combining this external information with insider knowledge from our CRM system and from colleagues in our operating units, the job holder will identify and communicate priorities of the market to keep our service offerings fresh and relevant and will turn data and information into actionable insights to which Campden BRI can respond.

  • To undertake media preparation and lab waste decontamination activities, to maintain the laboratory in a clean and tidy condition, to carry out microbiological project work, and to report results internally to senior microbiological staff. To maintain laboratory documentation and records to allow full traceability of sample receipt, quality of media used, suitability of equipment for the tests and accurate recording of results.
