Natural toxins and allergens
Many foods naturally contain chemicals that are either toxic to a greater or lesser degree, or contain allergenic proteins. The range of
potential problems is wide, but we can help you decide what these are and carry out analyses to see if a hazard exists in your products.
Amongst the many tests we can perform are:
- Phytohaemagglutinins / lectins.
- Allergens - including egg, dairy (casein, whey, lactose), nuts, gluten, sulphite, histamine, sesame.
- Mycotoxins - including ochratoxin, aflatoxin, zearalenone, patulin, sterigmatocystin.
- Metals - lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic.
- Alkaloids - caffeine and theobromine.

Where we refer to UKAS Accreditation
