What is the potential of advanced robotics in the food industry? How will the food industry’s automation and robotisation impact on workers and the skills they need?
Industry 4.0 refers to the idea of smart factories that are highly automated with data rich, digitally integrated production systems. These factories will be able to electronically capture data from all aspects of the manufacturing process and use it to understand exactly what impacts operational efficiency, process variability and product safety and quality.
Many in the food industry are not aware of the specific requirements that must be met for successful deployment of Industry 4.0 and struggle to engage with those with the relevant disciplines to allow it to happen. Consequently, the roll-out of this future industry is slow.
This workshop will provide delegates an opportunity to discuss their experiences of developing and implementing industry 4.0 and digitisation in their food factories.
Delegates will be able to network with those of different disciplines to learn how to overcome the challenges that they faced when introducing the aspect of this automated industry.
The workshop will also provide an insight to the strategies of adopting Industry 4.0 in food factories to help delegates improve efficiency, sustainability and to meet the needs of the consumers.
Please note that copies of the presentations will not be available on the day but will be emailed within a few days of the event as an electronic download in PDF format.
